Vietnam visa requirements for Taiwanese nation
All the citizens of Taiwan will need a visa for Vietnam for both tourism or business purposes. Nowadays, the Taiwanese passport holders can easily apply for Vietnam visa at the Vietnam Embassy or apply online to pickup visa at arrival airport. Each of them has its own advantage however, visa on arrival is one of the easiest and cheapest way for Taiwanese passports getting a Vietnam visa.
Vietnam visa is required for all Taiwanese citizens;
Taiwanese citizens are eligible for maximum 90 days single or multiple entry e-visa;
Taiwanese citizens can get visa on arrival with pre-arranged visa approval letter;
Taiwanese citizens can get a rush Vietnam visa in 4 working hours or 1 working day.
1. General information
– Vietnam visa is required for all Taiwanese passports;
– The Taiwanese passport holders can apply for 1 month or 3 months tourist visa. If they enter Vietnam for working with the Vietnamese Enterprises, they will need a business visa;
– The passport must have at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival with blank pages for visa sticky and stamp;
2. How do Taiwanese passport holders apply for Vietnam visa?
2.1. Apply for e-visa for Vietnam
From August 15, 2023, all the nationalities including Taiwanese citizens are eligible for 90 days (single or multiple entry) e-visas for Vietnam.
In order to apply for Vietnam e-visa, the Taiwanese citizens need to prepare:
- Files of passport data page photo and passport-sized photo: The passport data page photo should show up 4 corners and borders of the main page in which all the information is displayed clearly without being flashed or obscured by fingers;
The passport-sized photo must be taken in recently 6 months with eyes open, straight look, without wearing hat or glasses and be taken on a white or light coloured plain background; - Credit card or debit card that are enabled to conduct online payment. You can also make a payment via PayPal when you apply for an e-visa on our website;
How to apply e-visa for Vietnam?
Step 1: Fill the requirement information in the application form.
Step 2: Pay the visa fee and get e-visa in maximum 3 – 5 working days.
Step 3: Receive an email containing e-visa upon successful application. Please print out the e-visa, bring along with your passport to get on the plane.
Step 4: Present your e-visa at the immigration counter to get entry into Vietnam.
Things you should notice on the Vietnam e-visa application
When applying for e-visa for Vietnam, please note that:
- When applying for Vietnam e-visa, the fee is paid to the Vietnam Immigration Department thus you don’t have to bring cash for stamping fee and the visa process at arrival airport is faster accordingly
- Payments for e-visa applications are non-refundable;
- The applicants should check the information on a granted e-visa against the passport to make sure there is no mistake;
- The processing time may take longer than 3 working days that probably affect to your flight time. You are strongly recommended to buy a flight ticket when you already received your e-visa;
- The applicants have to leave the country before applying for the next e-visa.
- While your visa application is being processed, you may receive a request for amending your visa information. In this case, the processing time will take more 3 – 5 working days after the revision is made. 2.2. Apply online for a Vietnam visa on arrival
The Taiwanese passport holders can apply Vietnam visa on arrival from anywhere outside of Vietnam. The Vietnam visa will be picked up upon arrival at the Vietnam airports by showing up the printed approval letter.
The approval letter will be sent via email within 3 working days (normal processing mode), 8 working hours (rush processing mode), 4 hours (urgent processing mode) or even 2 hours (emergency processing mode) depending on which option you choose when submitting the visa application. Vietnam visa on arrival is especially beneficial for those who are living far from the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in Taiwan.
In order to get a Vietnam visa on arrival, the Taiwanese passport holders should pay two types of fee: the processing fee and the stamping fee.
Processing fee: It is the fee for expediting the visa approval letter.
Stamping fee: It is paid in cash to at the visa counter at the arrival airport to get the visa stamp. The applicants must prepare the processing fee in cash (USD or VND) as far as there is no ATM, money changer or any other way to withdraw money in the immigration hall and credit cards are not accepted. Other currencies will be converted into USD at given exchange rate.
Notes:
– Visa on arrival is only applicable for Taiwanese citizens traveling by air to Vietnam.
2.3. Apply for Vietnam visa directly at the Vietnamese Embassy or Consulates
